First sickness :(

Last night when we put Pax down to bed, he sounded stuffy. After attempting to suction his nose out, he fell asleep. He woke up a few more times before we went to bed sneezing and sniffing. Then he was quiet until he woke up screaming at 12:50. Now, he doesn't usually scream (or get up that early!), so we knew something was wrong. I went in and he had a running nose and was really stuffed. He felt warm, so we took his temp, which was a little high at 99.5 degrees. I fed him, suctioned his nose, and comforted him before putting him back down and he fell asleep until 6. At 6, I went in his room again and just rubbed his belly and turned on his mobile/gloworm and he fell back asleep. At the doctor's today, she checked his left ear and told us that he had an ear infection :( My poor baby! She asked if he had been pulling on his left ear, had not been eating, and/or had been fussy, which he had not been any of those! Of course as soon as we started to walk out the door, he started pulling on his ear. Little stinker. So we have our first experience with antibotics. It's interesting to get an infant a syringe full of bubble gum medicine. I tried it first with Paxton sitting up and he quickly pushed it out of his mouth and down the front of him. It definitely works better if he's laying down because it actually goes down his throat. We'll go back to the doctor in 2 weeks to get his ears checked out and to make sure he's back on the road to health!
