We headed back to the cardiologist on July 31. When we arrived, the nurse told me that the doctor would only request another echo if he didn't hear the murmur (to confirm that the hole had closed). If he heard the murmur still, we wouldn't do any tests. He did still hear the murmur, so we just went and had him weighed, blood pressure done, and blood oxygen measured. One of the things the doc wanted to keep watch over was Sawyer's weight. He took one look at our little chunk, laughed, and said "well that's not a concern". Everything else looked good too!
The doctor said if I was comfortable with it, we could wait 6 months before coming back. After seeing the look of panic on my face, he reminded me that we would be seeing the pediatrician in between there too, so then I felt better :)
He reminded us to watch for sweaty and seeing out of breath while eating. He mentioned that he hoped the hole would get smaller, based on the position in the heart. I'm assuming we'll get another echo in January to see the size. Keep those prayers coming!!
